We are outdoor play enthusiasts who love SUMMER CAMP.
We are dedicated to preserving the simplicity of childhood through
play, creativity & community

All of our GO Programs are based out of our Dundalk HQ: Our headquarters is nestled away on 130 acres of outdoor bliss just outside of Dundalk. We have a large pond, 80 acres of workable farmland, 5 acres of hardwood forest, and 10 acres of softwood forest - all connected with walking trails and tucked away places to play.

There is no such thing as a “typical day” at GO Adventure Co. because our programming is tailored to meet the dynamics and interest of each group. We believe it is important to have both planned, structured activities as well as ample opportunity for supervised free play where participants can use their imaginations and create. We want each time at GO to be an authentic, outdoor play experience where participants feel they have ownership of their time with us and a safe, encouraging environment to try new things.

We love swimming, playing in the forest, playing games, making crafts, building in our junk yard, dancing, the list is endless!

GO YOUTH ADVENTURE: Get ready for an extra wicked adventure. GO Youth Camp is just like our GO Camp but with a twist! Your GO-er will get to rock climb, learn survival skills, explore our local area by swimming in the many lakes or hiking the awesome trails we have and lastly have a camp out Thursday night at GO!

YOUTH SKILLS: Youth Skills is a hands-on, full of experiences camp. This program will offer a wide variety of activities with the youth learning a new skill or gaining a new experience each day. We are going to trail build, learn about foraging and cooking, dabble in some mechanical skills, use power tools for construction, and learn to sew. **Please note: This camp is different than our Adventure Camp and does NOT include a camp out on Thursday night.**

YOUth LEADership: Our youth leadership program is a week long course where participants practice leadership skills, gain hands on experience leading and build a resource tool kit to be used in future leadership roles.

We believe that anyone can be a leader with the right tools and guidance, so we encourage all youth wanting to discover their leadership potential to come join us.

The knowledge and skills gained at YOU LEAD can assist youth wanting to: coach, apply for jobs, be a leader at school or among their peers, gain confidence by discovering their strengths, be a camp counsellor, and much more!

Please note: All youth completing our YOU LEAD - Youth Leadership Program will be eligible to come back and volunteer at future GO Adventure Co. Summer Camps (ie: to gain hours for community service, etc). Participants may also request references for volunteer, scholarship or job opportunities

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION AT GO

Camp is meant for everyone: race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, place of origin, disability and other identities, have a right to full inclusion and engagement and at GO we are committed to a community that promotes equality for all.

We understand that each individual is unique and has varying needs, so all it takes is a discussion with us to plan for proper supports and services during any of our GO programs, in order to make it a positive and successful experience for everyone involved. Please keep in mind that we are an outdoor based program and so there may be accessibility barriers for GO-ers with limited mobility.

Jake’s Fund

In memory of Jake, our camp dog, who always brought calmness, comfort , friendship and love to camp. Jake’s Fund is a campership created to financially assist kids in our local community to participate in Summer Camp programs. We named this campership program after Jake so he can continue to give his love to camp.

THE GO Crew!

  • Alycia Bannon | Founder & CO-GOer

Growing up, Alycia never knew what career to focus her attention on but she always knew she wanted to be her own boss. It took many years of travelling around the world, a diploma in Recreation and Leisure services, working various contracts and the support of friends and family to have her realize she wanted to return to her hometown and start a recreation company.

With Alycia’s “say yes and GO” attitude she has had many opportunities to learn new skills and gain knowledge in many different areas. She has worked for four different summer camps (all in different locations throughout the world), nannied in the Rockies and most recently instructed rock climbing programs at schools in the GTA.

Alycia is excited about the idea of running her own company because it allows her to use the assortment of skills and knowledge she has acquired living and working in so many different settings. She has a passion for the outdoors, sports, being creative, working with people, taking time for fun, recreation and leisure. Alycia looks forward to sharing her passion and building a community of GO-ers!

  • Janna Tait | CO-GOer

Janna is an outdoor loving northerner from Whitehorse, Yukon, which is where she met Alycia one summer directing and leading Youth Adventure Camps together. The idea of eventually running their own business was sparked that summer, but it took a few years to make it happen.

In the meantime Janna went to university and received two degrees: a Bachelor of Kinesiology - Pedagogy major and a Bachelor of Education - Physical Education major. Her resume includes teaching Outdoor education and PE in Alberta and Yukon, one on one tutoring with students and coaching volleyball, basketball, soccer, badminton, and track and field.

When asked about why she wanted to be a partner in GO Adventure Co she said:

“I am a teacher and cannot imagine myself in any other profession. However, I am a teacher faced with the challenge of only REALLY loving the subjects that don't get priorities in school. My favourite place to teach is actually outside of school; outside of the school building in the outdoors and outside of scheduled school time when I am coaching or going on school trips.

My two favorite parts of teaching are building relationships and experiencing that ‘aha!’ moment with the person learning something new. I am so excited to be apart of GO because it will allow me to teach subjects I love, in my favourite type of setting - outside of school.”

  • THE TEAM!

The members of the GO Crew Team are the best! Everyone is trained to ensure the safety of our Goers is the number one priority while ensuring every camper leaves each day feeling respected and their day was filled with fun!

Our staff are all first-aid certified, we host a multi-day staff training and many of our staff are campers who have completed our Youth Leadership program and have now become staff.

Speaking of safety: Campers 8 and under are required to wear a lifejacket while in the pond and campers 9 and older have to complete a timed swim test.. We also have 5 certified lifeguards on our staff team.
We run each program on a 7:1 ratio maximum.
